About Karin
Karin's journey into the visual arts began during her violin studies at the Jerusalem Academy of Music, where she also pursued drawing and lithography at the renowned Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. This foundational training in visual expression laid the groundwork for her evolution into a multidisciplinary artist who bridges the worlds of music and art. Her experience as a classical musician informs her visual work, allowing her to approach art with a sense of rhythm, movement, and harmony that is distinctly musical.
Karin's first collection, "Inspired by Music," is a celebration of her dual identity as both a musician and visual artist.
The collection specifically caters to musicians and music lovers, drawing inspiration from her extensive network of musical colleagues and her own career as a professional viola player. The concept behind "Inspired by Music" is to create a line of products that resonate not just visually but also emotionally with those who appreciate the art of sound.
About the Brand
With the market flooded by cheap music merchandise, Karin Norlen is a brand which provides something different; high quality products where keeping a low environmental footprint is a priority.
We have gone the extra mile to seek out local manufacturers who share our values. Our fine bone china is manufactured in Stoke-on-Trent, cushion covers are made in Wales, whilst prints and cards are made using paper sourced from Somerset and the Lake District.
Our Planet
From the Cornish clay used in our mugs, to our packaging being made from recycled materials, every effort has been made to present products to customers which can be enjoyed for years. All of the paper in our prints and cards is FSC grade and textiles are made from OEKO-TEX cotton. We aim to keep it this way, rather than exploiting the earth by sourcing cheap products from the other side of the globe. We can all do our bit to help support generations of local craftspeople. When you buy our products we can assure you that you are helping to support local businesses where workers earn a living wage. Whilst we cannot always compete on price, we will not compromise on our values.
